Ordinarily, this would
have been tax deadline day. It’s been a
taxing enough time without taxes, hasn’t it?
Are you ready for something that is not disturbing, nor alarming, nor
unsettling? How about a thought that
reminds us of Christmas?
Galatians 4:4 – “But when
the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born
under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive
adoption as sons.”
If we believe that God is
Sovereign (and He is); if we believe that He is in control of all things, that He
loves us and will never permit our ultimate harm, then we should also believe
that God’s timing is perfect. Nothing
happens to any of us that is random.
Nothing is ill timed.
God never makes a move
too soon or too late. He never
miscalculates the amount of time something should take.
Think about timing being
bad. Bad timing is bringing home a 5-pound box of chocolate candy and a dozen
donuts on Day 1 of Sweetie’s diet.
But God’s timing is
always perfect. Have you ever felt that
the timing of circumstances in your life was bad? It
wasn’t. God’s timing is perfect. Part of the contentment God wants us to learn
is to learn to be content with His timing.
We can see God’s perfect
timing in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
One example of many that could be shown is Daniel’s famous prophecy.
God informed us through
Daniel in Daniel 9:24-27 that Messiah, the Anointed One, would be cut off (can
be translated as executed) 483 years
after a decree to restore and build Jerusalem.
That decree, issued by Artaxerses Longimanus took place on March 5, 444 BC.
When was the Anointed
One, the Christ, cut off? If you add 483
years to March 5, 444 B.C., you come to March 30, 33 AD. That is the exact date that has been figured
by Sir Robert Anderson of Scotland Yard, among others, as the day Jesus rode
into Jerusalem for what is often called His Triumphal Entry. Amazing!
For that prophecy to be
fulfilled it had to be timed precisely almost 500 years in advance. Coincidence or Divine Providence? Luck or God’s Sovereignty? Nothing coincidental or lucky about
this. God’s timing is always perfect.,
because He is Maybe you are dealing with
some issues that involve questions like these:
1.
“When will I get out of this mess?”
2. “When will my prayer be answered?”
3. “When will I know what I am supposed to do?”
4. “When will I get married?”
5. “When am I going to feel better?”
6. “When will he stop behaving that way?”
7. When will this Pandemic be over?
The answer: when the time
has fully come – when it is the perfect time.
God knows the best time for everything.
We can rest our troubled hearts in that thought.

Paul, thank you! I have been studying Phillipians & Humility. To be able to have joy in ALL things, requires me to remember who God is, and then my position in relation to Him. I am the creature, not Creator; I am not in control; I am...NOT God! Humility is being content with that & trusting that "His timing is perfect."
