Romans 8:35-39
Who
shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or
persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,
“For your sake we are being killed all
the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all
these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height
nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from
the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Yesterday, in the sermon, I talked
about how God is always with you through everything that you go through in life.
In this passage, Paul reminds us that all of things listed about cannot
separate you from the love of Christ. He is with you today and will be with you
tomorrow. No matter what challenges face the Church, we are more than
conquerors through HIM!
In the English Premier League
(Soccer in England), there is a team called Liverpool. They have a Hymn that
they sing regularly called, “you’ll never walk alone”. Here is the link to Josh
Groban singing.
There is something that has run
through my mind. When I hear the whole soccer stadium singing it, it reminds me
of what we should be singing to each other as the Church. “You never walk alone”.
God is with you and your Christian family is with you. Here is a short version
of the fans and team singing together after a big win.
Stay steadfast in the Faith, Mt.
Vernon Family.
You are loved and You Never Walk Alone!
